Our Hiring Process

Stage 1

Initial Chat

A 30-minute interview via Zoom with our Head of Talent,  Mike Bradshaw.

During our conversation, Mike will discuss your job search, interest in Pinpoint, and briefly review your work history. The interview will primarily focus on understanding how well you can thrive in our unique startup environment and your alignment with our company values.
Stage 2

Assessment

If we hire you, we want you to be successful. So if the interview went well and we’re all aligned, we’ll ask you to complete a brief assessment related to the role you’ll be doing at Pinpoint. This will be a writing exercise allowing you to showcase your ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely, adhere to style guidelines, and organize information effectively.

We’ll talk more about that at the end of the first interview, and we promise not to take up hours and hours of your time. But if you’ve got to this stage, we’re all pretty invested in moving you forward and we want to make sure (a) you enjoy working with us, and (b) we enjoy working with you.
Stage 3

Meet the Hiring Manager

This will be a 60-minute interview with you and your potential future manager, the Director of Revenue Operations. We’ll be looking to understand more about your experience, how that fits the role, and what you hope to gain from the role.

We'll want to learn more about your experience including past projects you have worked on, the tools and technologies you have used, and your approach to handling different documentation challenges.

We'll ask about the core requirements of the position including technical knowledge, writing for different audiences, information architecture, document version control, and industry-specific standards or best practices.

You might encounter hypothetical situations or real-world challenges that technical writers commonly face such as tight deadlines, conflicting requirements, or adapting documentation for different user personas.

We’ll be transparent and honest. Nothing’s off the table. So if you have questions from the last call, please ask them. This whole process is as much about you qualifying us as it is about us qualifying you.
Stage 4

Final Interview

For the final interview in our process, you will meet with our CRO, Pete, and VP of Marketing, Kristin.

Starting with introductions and a discussion about your interest in our company, we'll aim to learn how you handle the fast-paced nature of startups and your long-term career aspirations.

We'll then explore your technical writing expertise, focusing on your experience with complex documentation, quality assurance processes, and cross-functional collaboration.

The final portion will cover your commercial acumen, particularly your experience with RFP responses and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Throughout the interview, we'll be interested in understanding how you approach challenging situations, your preferred work culture, and your ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Of course, we'll leave plenty of time for your questions.
