Chief Technology Officer

We're looking for an experienced data scientist to join our team in Jersey. The role is focused on the design, development and continual improvement of machine learning systems for Pinpoint, a software-as-a-service tool designed to help businesses grow. We're looking for candidates who are hands-on, have prior experience and share our passion for building products that change the way things are done.

Key Responsibilities

Working as a focal part of a growing software development team, your responsibilities will be varied. Your main focus will be to architect, build, test and tweak Pinpoint Match - a machine learning system we're building to help companies filter large volumes of applicants intelligently and automatically using big data.

We expect you to be able to (and want to) contribute to every aspect of Pinpoint Match - from the design of the system to actually committing the code that powers it.

This is the first of our 'Data Science' hires and over time (as growth allows), the role will grow to incorporate the building of a dedicated team - sourcing, hiring and managing the individuals within a 'data science' team and delivering the insights the team generates back to the business, helping to shape the product development roadmap.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Our goals for Pinpoint Match are ambitious and the hiring data we generate is vast and varied. We expect candidates to have worked under the hood of a system with similar goals in the past (e.g. recommendation systems, search engines or other machine learning systems).

Our ideal candidate is result-focused, innovative and has a solid quant background (i.e. A.I. / Computer Science / Engineering / Maths) as well as a robust understanding of business.

You like working on extremely hard problems, are comfortable working as part of a small team and feel confident pushing your work into production - not just building complex models but actually shipping them as well. You'll have:
  • Experience developing algorithms at scale, from inception to production.
  • Experience transforming large, complex datasets into pragmatic, actionable insights.
  • The ability to see beyond raw numbers, acting as the voice of data when communicating to different teams within the business.
  • A strong working knowledge of some form of data-science language like Python, R or equivalent.

We care deeply about making Pinpoint an incredible place to work and as such invest a significant amount of time and energy into creating and maintaining a company culture that provides our team with a generous level of support whilst inspiring them to do their best work.

The specific benefits / perks we offer are continually evolving, but currently include:
  • Full healthcare coverage for you and your family
  • Free lunch at the office daily
  • Monthly book budget for all employees
  • Top of the line equipment (4K Monitors, Macbook Pro, etc.)
