- Stage 1
Initial
30 minutes with our Senior Recruiter, Marissa.
This first conversation is about getting to know you and making sure the basics line up. We’ll spend time on your motivations, background, and expectations — and ask questions that help us see how you’d thrive in a high-growth startup with a complex, evolving product. We’ll also look for how your approach aligns with the values that guide how we work at Pinpoint.

- Stage 2
Technical Deep Dive
45 with the CTO and Leaf Infastructure Engineer.
This conversation will explore your hands-on experience in more detail. We’ll discuss infrastructure design decisions, incident response examples, Terraform usage, and how you approach performance and scaling challenges. Expect practical, experience-based discussion rather than abstract theory.

- Stage 3
Paid Assignment
You’ll be asked to complete a short paid exercise designed to reflect real work you’d do in the role. Typically this involves reviewing a scenario and outlining a structured plan to improve reliability or scale infrastructure over a defined period. We’re looking at your thinking, prioritisation, and risk awareness — not perfection.
- Stage 4
Engineering Team Interview
45 minutes with our VP of Engineering and a Senior Engineer. This stage focuses on how you’d collaborate within the engineering team. We’ll explore how you work cross-functionally, how you balance risk and speed, and how you help improve engineering practices beyond pure infrastructure work.
- Stage 5
Final
In the final stage of the process, you'll meet with a member of our executive team. This is an opportunity for you to inquire about Pinpoint's long-term plans, current challenges, and the impactful role you're set to play.
We will explore your goals during your time at Pinpoint and assess your ability to thrive in our working environment, emphasizing alignment with our company values.
