Our Hiring Process

Stage 1

Initial

30 minutes with our VP of Talent, Mike Bradshaw.

This first conversation is about getting to know you and making sure the basics line up. We’ll spend time on your motivations, background, and expectations — and ask questions that help us see how you’d thrive in a high-growth startup with a complex, evolving product. We’ll also look for how your approach aligns with the values that guide how we work at Pinpoint.

We’ll align on salary expectations, process, and timeline. And of course, you’ll have the chance to ask your first questions and decide if Pinpoint feels like the right environment for you.

Stage 2

Hiring Manager

45 minutes with Dom, VP of Engineering

This is a deeper dive into your technical and problem-solving approach. We’ll talk through real examples from your past work — debugging in production, improving reliability, and building internal tools — and explore how you structure and communicate technical decisions.

You’ll also get to dig into the role itself: the team, expectations, and how this work connects to product quality and customer impact at Pinpoint.
Stage 3

Technical Exercise + Panel

You’ll complete a short paid take-home assignment based on a real scenario from Pinpoint’s environment, then walk us through your approach in a 60-minute session with Dom (VP Engineering), Bill (CTO), and Anka (Senior Engineer).

The exercise is designed to mirror the kind of problems you’d solve here — debugging, reliability improvements, or internal tooling — with clear instructions and realistic scope. The review session is conversational: we’ll discuss your reasoning, trade-offs, and how you collaborate on technical challenges.

It’s also your opportunity to meet key members of the engineering team, learn about our stack and culture, and ensure the work feels like the kind of engineering you want to do.
Stage 4

Final

In the final stage of the process, you'll meet with a member of our executive team. This is an opportunity for you to inquire about Pinpoint's long-term plans, current challenges, and the impactful role you're set to play.

We will explore your goals during your time at Pinpoint and assess your ability to thrive in our working environment, emphasizing alignment with our company values.

Finally, this will be your chance to address any lingering questions or concerns you may have regarding the company or your role.
