What I do at Pinpoint
Hey, I'm Ellis!
I'm a slightly nerdy, though highly sociable Chief Operating Officer. I'm currently responsible for the financial, legal and people side of life at Pinpoint.

Why Pinpoint
Pinpoint gives you flexibility, autonomy and responsibility. We're serious about what we do and we move quickly, meaning you learn a ton.
We're also realistic about your career - we don't naively assume you'll be with us forever, but we will work with you to ensure you come out of the other side of Pinpoint with the skills you came here for.

Who am I?
I love putting order and process into anything I do. I love frameworks and rules...why is perhaps why I've been banned from board games on multiple occasions for being too competitive, argumentative and a 'stickler' for said rules.
I believe in working hard, but within the limits (and in a way that) works for you. I respect honestly, integrity, conscientiousness and a good work ethic. I believe everyone works different and there's no set recipe for how to fit into a team or how to manage an individual. I consider myself to be very rational and logical and will always work with people to come to the best solution.
I'm a big sports fan and spend a lot of my time playing golf (badly). I'm also very into music and have pretty eclectic taste.

Advice for prospective candidates
I hire people who impress and who I feel I can learn from you.
I like to see individuals exemplify what they'll bring which the team or I don't already possess. I also like to see examples of individuals taking initiative.
Pinpoint is not somewhere you'll be spoon-fed. You'll be given guidance and direction, but you'll be expected to define your role, to own it and to deliver to a high standard. If you can't self-motivate or drive yourself, then Pinpoint might not be the place for you.
We hire people because they're smart, not because they're just a number. We want our new recruits to be showing us how things should be done, not having us follow our instructions on how they're currently done.
